In the world of premium cigars, it isn't uncommon for the inspiration behind a special cigar to come from a significant life event. In the case of Kristoff Guardrail, that significant event happens to be the near-death experience of brand owner Glen Case. When riding his motorcycle one night, the back tire gave out during a 65-mph curve and the bike went crashing into a guardrail. Thankfully, Case survived, and after much healing, decided to name this cigar after the horrific events of that fateful evening. The good news is that there is nothing horrific about the blend! Made at the Tabacalera von Eicken factory in the Dominican Republic, Kristoff Guardrail consists of a very special filler blend including long leaves from the Dominican Republic and Zimbabwe, of all places. The binder is Dominican, and the dark, oily wrapper comes from Brazil. Such an interesting blend makes for a great smoking experience and has become quite a success for the boutique cigar company.
