Joya de Nicaragua Número Uno
Joya de Nicaragua and Drew Estate have been doing big things in the world of cigars recently, and many would argue that Joya de Nicaragua Numero Uno is the crowning achievement. The story behind this blend is that long before it became a commercially available cigar for purchase, it was a blend handed out as a diplomatic gift by Nicaraguan ambassadors and government officials to visiting dignitaries. It is also said that the blend was originally destined to be a special handout at Drew Estate events across the US. Nevertheless, Numero Uno is thankfully here for all of us to enjoy, and what a treat it is! Produced by individual pairs of cigar rollers at Fabrica de Tabacos Joya de Nicaragua, this blend is part of Joya de Nicaragua's Obras Maestras series, translated simply as "Masterpieces," the brand's most limited and sought-after products. On the surface, Numero Uno seems to be a simple blend, using Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos and an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper leaf. In reality, however, this cigar is a high-end performer and offers some of the most luxurious flavor available on today's market. Don't believe us? We can let the 95 rating in Cigar Aficionado do the talking, along with the high placing Numero Uno earned on the Top 25 list for 2020. Shop all Joya De Nicaragua cigars.
