Originally made to celebrate its 45th year of existence, Joya de Nicaragua Cuatro Cinco Reserva Especial cigars just fit the bill as a celebratory cigar for the ages. As the first Nicaraguan cigar factory in 1968, the Cuatro Cinco needed to be a unique cigar to honor not only the company but also all the wonderful people that have worked for them. Since it was so successful, Joya de Nicaragua decided to come out with a slightly altered version of that special edition cigar for the masses. They added a Dominican volado binder to the original Nicaraguan puro that may be more on the medium side in terms of body but it is very full of flavor. The 5-year-aged filler tobaccos from Esteli and the Jalapa Valley spend an extra year fermenting in rum oak barrels to impart an extra woodiness to the flavor profile.
