Herrera Esteli Norteno

Packed into boxes of ten without cellophane, each Norteño is decorated with a simple green and cream-colored band bearing the embossed image of Nicaragua's national bird, the Guardabarranco. The rounded-square profile of each heavy stick fits nicely in the hand, and the triple cap applied to the toothy, mocha-hued wrapper mirrors the overall quality of the rest of the cigar. Not content to play it safe, Herrera decided to go all out on his inaugural effort and so the Norteño is a full-bodied and full-flavored treat loaded with earth and cedar and a black pepper at the base but enlightened with buttered toast, sweet currants, and a luscious floral aroma.
