Made by hand at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua, this blend features a straightforward blend of premium tobaccos, including Nicaragua fillers, a Nicaraguan binder, and a dark, oily Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper leaf that gives the blend exponentially deeper and richer flavor than its predecessor. This blend earned an impressive trio of 90 ratings in Cigar Aficionado soon after its release, proving that AJ Fernandez just cannot go wrong when it comes to bringing back classics in modern form.

Each cedar chest housing the top-shelf vitolas appears to be made of the finest antique wood and lovingly adorned with the H. Upmann logo. The same logo appears on the dark blue and gold worn by each stick. The quality is incredible, with each cigar offering a nearly effortless draw and producing smoke in clouds so thick it is almost overwhelming. This flavor profile starts off with a bang, intense Nicaraguan white pepper hitting the palate hard and working in tandem with the spicy nature of the Brazilian wrapper leaf to produce a rich, bold feel right from the get-go. This soon smooths out into a mixture of dark chocolate, espresso, and dark tobacco notes, with just a hint of sweetness on the tip of the tongue. The finish is long and rich, and overall, this stick finishes on the very heavy side of medium-full-bodied.
