It’s not every day that AJ Fernandez trusts another cigar maker to produce something he puts his name on, so when Enclave by Eladio Diaz was introduced, it’s obvious that plenty of heads were turning. Eladio Diaz was a part of the Davidoff brand for years and now has his own factory in the Dominican Republic, Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera, where this stick is built from the ground up. Everyone knows the Enclave brand is one of the sticks that put AJ Fernandez on the map over a decade ago, and now that he’s one of the top dogs in the business, he can sit back and have some fun with things. This cigar is unique for a Fernandez cigar, in that none of the tobacco used in the blend comes from the Fernandez Family Farms. To those who know, this hardly ever happens. Rather, it contains a simple recipe of fillers from the Dominican Republic, a binder from Ecuador, and an Ecuadorian wrapper leaf, Criollo 99, to be exact. Straightforward as it may seem, this cigar has made some big waves since its introduction, and it is proving itself to be more than worthy of residing in the AJ Fernandez portfolio.
