Eiroa Dark Natural

Eiroa Dark Natural

It has been over a decade since Christian Eiroa sold Camacho Cigars and founded his own cigar brand, and after countless blends that have garnered huge success, he gets back to his roots with Eiroa Dark. Christian Eiroa is no stranger to using full-bodied tobacco, but so far, he hasn’t unleashed any particularly heavy-hitting blends bearing his own name. This changes with Eiroa Dark, a Honduran puro built by hand in the family’s Aladino factory in Honduras using 100% authentic Jamastran Corojo leaves for the entire blend—wrapper, filler, and binder. Authentic non-hybrid Corojo is a bit problematic to grow, as it is particularly susceptible to disease and fungus, but the Eiroas have been working with it for decades and have become known as industry masters at growing and curing the robust leaves. In the case of this cigar, the wrapper leaf comes from a higher priming, giving it its dark color and immense strength. In case you are thinking things seem familiar with this recipe, yes, it appears to be a very similar setup to the original Camacho blend way back in the early 2000s that made Eiroa famous to begin with. Eiroa Dark has earned a solid 91 rating in Cigar Aficionado and is one of the brand’s crowning achievements to date.
