C.L.E. Prieto
C.L.E. Prieto is one of the latest cigars from the master of powerhouse cigars himself, Christian Eiroa. Made in Nicaragua, C.L.E. Prieto is not a powerhouse cigar per se, but is the first maduro offering from C.L.E. Cigars, meaning it's bound to be bold, sweet, and darn delicious. Introduced as part of a 2-blend release, Prieto, translating as slang for "dark" is the sister cigar of C.L.E. Chele, which translates as, you guessed it, "light." Prieto is blended with a luxurious recipe of Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos and finished with a jet-black USA Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper. So how did Eiroa do with his first maduro cigar under his own brand name? Pretty good, apparently, as Prieto promptly earned a rock-solid 92-rating in Cigar Aficionado soon after its release, as well as the 17th spot in the famed magazine's Top 25 cigars of 2017. With such tremendous accolades, Prieto has already proven itself as one of the most successful sticks ever released under the C.L.E. brand name.
