Where most stogie manufacturers are content with pumping out blend after blend with little regard for the smoker's overall well-being, the Project 40 was designed around the idea that cigar smoking can and should have a positive effect on the aficionado and the goal is to maximize that experience. To that end, a delightful blend of primo-aged Nicaraguan longleaf has been captured beneath a potent Brazilian Habano binder to create a wealth of complex flavors suitable for a wide range of palates. This might be enough delicious tobacco for most, but AB's founder Alan Rubin has pushed the boundaries by obtaining a gorgeous Nicaraguan Colorado wrapper so good it's helped propel the stick to be named the #24 Cigar of the Year for 2019.
If you're in the mood for reading while smoking a cigar, the frontmark's mission statement as printed on the band will keep you intrigued just long enough to get the well-packed foot perfectly lit. Burning slow and steady, the 6” X 52 cigar at first releases medium-strength clouds of smoke laden with black coffee, cedar, and spice.
