We aren’t just talking about any leaves, either, the tobacco used for this one comes from AJ Fernandez’s personal farms, and his most prized farms of all, as far as that goes. The Nicaraguan filler and binder blend is from the first harvest of the exclusive Los Espejos farm, while the gorgeous Criollo 98 hybrid wrapper leaf is grown on AJ’s lush Finca La Lilia farm in the fertile growing region of Esteli. We could talk for days about the accolades this cigar has received, but for now we will let the numerous 90+ ratings in Cigar Aficionado do the talking, including an incredible 95, along with a spot on the magazine’s Top 25 of 2025.
Beautiful blue boxes house the expertly crafted cigars, each one wearing double bands, one black and one blue to signify the blend. Built to exacting standards set forth by AJ Fernandez, this box-pressed package offers immense clouds of thick, silky smoke on every puff, with an easy draw and a straight burn. Initial flavors include cedar, black pepper, and spice. Soon enough, this opening turns rich, as hearty Nicaraguan tobacco forms the nucleus of the flavor profile, and notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, and black cherry begin to surface. A crispy finish of white pepper ties everything together, and all-in-all, this incredible gem of a cigar finishes on the very heavy side of medium-full-bodied.
