The Santos de Miami Lancero cigar is made in Miami, FL by the Jameson Cigar Company. The Santos de Miami features an art deco band that highlights the style that defined much of South Beach in the 1920's-1960's. The cigar is a 7 x 38 box press that is finished with the traditional pigtail cap. The Santos de Miami is a Dominican puro with corojo and criollo filler, a Criollo '98 binder, and a Havana Corojo wrapper.
The box press on this stick is impressive, the tobacco is well packed along the entire length of the smoke as well. The aroma coming from the wrapper is a sweet Dominican tobacco with a hint of spicy flavor coming from the foot. The pre-light draw gives us a sweet and spicy mixture.
The 1st third brings us creamy, nutty and toasted wood flavors with an appearance of spice on the finish. The 2nd third brings in some hints of berry while dialing back the wood and allowing the spice to shine through some more. The final third is more of the same with some more pronounced berry flavors making their presence known.
Overall, this is a great stick to try in this price range. Give one of the small boutique brands a chance to impress you, like they did me.
