Partagas Black Label Prontos Cigars can be considered a "new age" Partagas cigar, blended during the beginning of the full-bodied era to satisfy smokers who would become this generation of serious strength junkies. Blended by Benji Menendez and friends and made in the Dominican Republic, Partagas Black is a gorgeous cigar made with a very heavy blend of ligero fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The binder is a hearty Dominican leaf and the wrapper is an absolutely pitch-black Medio Tiempo Connecticut broadleaf oscuro leaf, which undergoes about 50% more aging than most other harvested leaves. The result is a bold, sweet, absolutely unforgettable smoking experience.
The ultra-oily stick burns sharply and evenly, giving off powerful bursts of white pepper and rich espresso flavors. There is very notable sweetness all the way through and a lingering, very pronounced dose of cocoa on the finish. It's a classic maduro flavor with added intensity and sweetness. Partagas Black is not for the faint of heart. It was one of the pioneering powerhouse cigars and remains one of the heaviest sticks on the market today.
