Arturo Fuente cigars have been produced in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera Fuente for the last few generations. The Fuente family is legendary for producing and blending a bevy of superbly outstanding cigars across what might be the widest spread of price points in the industry. From their super budget sub-$3 sticks in the Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Curly Heads to the ultra-premium and super famous Arturo Fuente Opus X, these cigars are known the world over for their complexity, strength, and superb flavors. No matter what kind of cigar smoker you are, Fuente makes a cigar that you are bound to enjoy.

We have put together for you a selection from some of the different lines produced at Tabacalera Fuente based on what have traditionally been our best sellers over the last few years. We call it our Meet Your Maker – Arturo Fuente Best Sellers Sampler. Here’s the rundown of those blends for your perusal!

Arturo Fuente Don Carlos - The wrapper might be ugly; the flavor is anything but. It is classic Cameroon with a sweet nuttiness, coffee, cocoa, and woodsiness. The Dominican fillers offer a bit of cedar, pepper and an overall smoothness that is unmatched. The Arturo Fuente Don Carlos is full in flavor, medium-full in body and medium in strength. Construction is what you would expect from Fuente, as the Don Carlos uses some of the oldest tobacco in the deep stocks of Fuente. For those looking for a celebration cigar that is understated, yet never outdone, the Don Carlos from Fuente is a perfect choice. In the words of the man himself, "My dream was not to be the biggest, it was to be the best."

Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Natural - The Gran Reserva Natural is a cigar for the ages, adorned with a classy red, green, and gold band bearing the Fuente trademark. The caramel-brown wrapper leaf is rough and veiny. The construction is absolutely matchless. An easy draw provides a plethora of thick white smoke. Smooth, crisp, classic. There is a presence of spice, as with most Cameroon sticks, but nothing overpowering. The rich floral notes leave behind a hint of the customary Fuente sweetness on the palate, along with a kiss of white pepper at the back of the throat. Indubitably medium-bodied. The Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Natural is a must-try for any cigar smoker, whether young or old, new or experienced, and it is a definite mainstay in any serious connoisseur’s humidor.

Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Maduro - A very smooth and velvety wrapper leaf adorns this cigar, dark and rich in appearance. A few pre-light puffs reveal a very easy draw and a notable presence of dry cocoa. After lighting, the stick gives off a barrage of very thick smoke bathed with notes of coffee and chocolate. A crisp spice hits the palate as the classic Maduro taste leaves behind Carlos Fuente Jr.'s signature sweet finish. This version is much fuller than the natural. The body is medium-full, so it is a great choice for smokers looking to step into the fuller-bodied realm of the cigar world. Beginners and experienced connoisseurs alike can enjoy this great cigar that soared to the top at its introduction and never looked back.

Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Sun Grown - The Arturo Fuente Sungrown cigars come wrapped in a very fragrant cedar sleeve and finished with the Chateau Series badge of honor, the black ribbon. The pre-light aroma is distinctly raw cedar, no doubt from aging under the cedar sleeve since their birth at Tabacalera Fuente. Of course, the draw is on-point and easy, and at first light, this piece of tobacco artwork slathers the palate with a warm greeting of cedar and oak. Soon, the crisp, grassy flavors evolve and bring about hints of herbs and unyielding spice. Carlos Fuente Jr. has a trademark, almost customary sweetness that is a mainstay in just about all of his blends, and this one is no different. Although not quite as sugary-sweet as his other premium blends, the Sungrown keeps that hint of lingering honey-like sweetness on the tip of the tongue, just enough to bring the whole package together. It is very full-bodied, so by no means is it a beginner's stick, but for any intermediate to experienced aficionado, this one is most definitely one to try. Most Fuente fanatics call this cigar a cheaper alternative to the Opus X because of the smooth, spicy attributes it carries with it.

Arturo Fuente Hemingway Natural - The Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story is perhaps one of the best selling and most easily recognized cigars in the industry. The Fuente perfecto shape is only rolled by the very best torcedores as they are one of the most difficult forms to roll well. There is good reason they are called “perfectos.” The Hemingway is an African Cameroon wrapped, Dominican filled and bound stick that produces clouds of thick white smoke and a rich aroma. Usually, one can find something negative about the construction or appearance of a cigar, but it is rare that you will ever find a flaw in these Hemingways. The Arturo Fuente Hemingway tastes of cedar, spice, and sweetness, with hints of tobacco and leather. The Cameroon wrapper is known for it's rather distinct sweet and spicy taste that most folks either love or hate. It is a flavor all it's own and one worth trying.

Arturo Fuente Rosado Sungrown Magnum R - The big story about this cigar, is the exotic Ecuadorian Rosado Sungrown wrapper leaf, gathered from the lower primings of the tobacco plant for a more mellow, "old-school" taste. This use of the lower primings strays from Carlos Fuente Jr's signature trend of powerful "experienced smoker only" cigars of recent years. These leaves were left over from the original Fuente Sungrown line and aged for an incredible 8-10 years before rolling. After production, the cigars age for an additional year for the flavors to "marry." It is draped in a gorgeous reddish-brown wrapper leaf, smooth and silky to the touch with no veins. It is mild to medium in body but very complex and smooth, with a classic tobacco flavor very much like the Cubans of old. There are hints of nuts and caramel and just a touch of citrus on the finish. While not anywhere near as potent as many of the other cigars in the Fuente lineup, the Rosado Sungrown possesses characteristics of its own that set it apart from just about any other cigar out there. Any experienced aficionado would be pleased to smoke it, as well as someone just starting out.
