Joya de Nicaragua Antano Dark Corojo La Niveladora is the follow-up cigar to the world-famous Antano 1970,  which is considered by many to be the world’s strongest cigar.  Well, maybe it was the strongest, until Antano Dark Corojo came along. Released a full decade after the Antano 1970, Antano Dark Corojo took what connoisseurs loved about the 1970 and “kicked it up a notch,” so to speak. Long considered to be a more elegant, aficionado-style cigar, Antano Dark Corojo takes spice, flavor, and overall strength to entirely new levels. Like all Joya de Nicaragua cigars, Antano Dark Corojo is made down in Nicaragua and is marketed under the Drew Estate umbrella of brands. The incredible recipe for this top shelf masterpiece consists of Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from all 3 of Nicaragua’s top growing regions, a spicy Nicaraguan binder, and a dark Nicaraguan Corojo Oscuro wrapper leaf. Along with an updated recipe, a new level of strength and complexity, and luxurious black packaging, Antano Dark Corojo is offered in a variety of sizes, each decided upon based on the preferences of experienced connoisseurs. La Niveladora is a box pressed 6” x 52 toro that provides up to 2 hours of  incredible smoking pleasure.

Antano Dark Corojo’s 3-year-aged, dark brown, nearly black wrapper leaf oozes with glistening oils. The construction, like its predecessor, is rugged, yet elegant and seamless. An amazing roll produces a slow, cool burn and a solid, yet plentiful draw, blasting the palate with a rush of cedar and earth mingled with spicy Nicaraguan white pepper. Cocoa, black cherry, cinnamon, and leather round out the flavor profile, followed by a subtle floral burst on the finish. Overall, Antano Dark Corojo is rich, powerful, and unusually smooth.  Without a doubt, it’s over-the-top on the fullness scale.

Obviously Antano Dark Corojo isn’t a beginners’ cigar. Heck, it isn’t even a cigar for a seasoned enthusiast. But then again, it was never meant to be. The good people at Joya Cigars specifically intended Antano Dark Corojo to be for experienced connoisseurs.  In addition, even those experienced connoisseurs should never smoke Antano Dark Corojo on an empty stomach. In fact, it makes a great finishing touch to a steak dinner, especially paired with espresso or port wine. If you enjoyed the original Antano 1970, or are just a fan of extremely full-bodied cigars in general, there’s no reason not to try this amazing offering from Joya Cigars. The “Yesteryear Cigar” has been revived, updated, and overhauled. Now it’s better than ever. Don’t take our word for it, though. Try a Joya de Nicaragua Antano Dark Corojo La Niveladora today and taste for yourself the true heritage of Nicaraguan cigars.
