The La Reloba Sumatra is a Medium to Medium-Full bodied cigar that was released by My Father Cigars in Spring of 2010. It is available is 4 sizes, Corona, Robusto, Toro, and Torpedo. It's a Nicaraguan cigar through and through as the filler, binder, and wrapper are all Nicaraguan.

The La Reloba Sumatra Torpedo earned a 94 point rating in the August 23, 2011 issue of Cigar Insider Magazine. They said the “The tip is a bit soft before cutting, but it draws and burns perfectly, showing remarkable balance and complexity ranging from coffee and vanilla to toast and minerals.” The Nicaraguan wrapper has a silky, oily feel to it. The La Reloba Sumatra starts off with chocolatey coffee notes then develops through the middle to include pepper, cinnamon, leather and wood. Notes of licorice mix with the cinnamon and leather from earlier bringing us to a smooth ending.

The burn issues that some have experienced with the La Reloba Habano do not seem to be the case here. The La Reloba Sumatra burns even, was easily lit and stayed lit, while requiring no corrections along the way. All in all, a great “budget” cigar from Don Pepin Garcia. The La Reloba is also available with a Habano wrapper.

If you like the Ambos Mundos line from Tatuaje, the Kristoff Sumatra, you'll find these a similar smoke. If you're looking for a similar but higher end cigar to this one try the Hoya de Monterrey Dark Sumatra.
