The Montecristo Platinum Robusto is a fuller flavored cigar boasting Peruvian, Dominican, and Nicaraguan long filler tobacco bound by a Nicaraguan leaf and wrapped gently in a Mexican San Andres Cubano wrapper. There is no tooth present on the wrapper making this cigar especially smooth given the amount of oil present.

Montecristo is about as big a name as any company in the cigar industry. This Montecristo Platinum cigar lives up to the expectations we have set for them without adhering to the same old same old smooth mild to medium flavor. The Platinum kicks it up a notch.

The pre-light draw is full of flavor though the draw is surprisingly on the tighter side. The ash holds on well and while the burn line started out a bit uneven it quickly corrected itself.

The flavors most prevalent in the Montecristo Platinum are chocolate, berries, licorice, leather, nuts, and cinnamon. The flavors are rather subtle and very smooth melding together to create consistent medium bodied and medium flavored smoke. The creamy, honey nut flavor that we've come to expect from Montecristo is not present here. This blend is bigger, bolder, and boasts more flavor than ever before while still maintaining that smooth smoking experience.
