The Man O' War Ruination Robusto #2 is an overly full bodied, full flavored cigar that is blended and produced at Tabacalera Fernandez. The stick is a Nicaraguan and Honduran long leaf ligero-filled and Habano Ecuadorian ligero wrapped cigar which only helps lead to it's extra full bodied status.

The wrapper is on the rough side and it does have some tooth to it. There are some light veins and some noticeable flaws in the wrapper itself but it doesn't look like they'll take away from one's smoking experience. The foot appears well packed when looking at roll but the firm squeeze test shows some soft spots along one side of this cigar. The aroma from the foot is that of pepper and barnyard hay.

There is a myriad of flavors present here and I dare you to find and name them all. As this is a ligero blend you can be sure you'll taste plenty of pepper and spice with background notes of leather and earth. The 2nd third shows a gradual recession of that spice but not to worry it never goes completely away. In the final third the big flavor presence here is more earthen, char and woodsy with highlighting notes of spice.

The cigar burned relatively cleanly, there was a small amount of canoeing on the side of the cigar that had the soft spots but I haven't had issues with the others I've smoked. The ash held strong and firm for 1”-2” before falling off. This is one cigar that seems to put off a lot of smoke though both on the draw and from the end.

AJ Fernandez seems to have hit another home run with the Man O' War Ruination. Give this one a try, just be sure to stand up slowly when finished.
