The La Sirena Sea Sprite cigar is one of the new kids on the block coming out of the Miami Cigar company. Blended by Don Pepin Garcia and rolled at the My Father factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, La Sirena is a Connecticut broadleaf wrapped and Nicaraguan filled cigar. The La Sirena Sea Sprite cigar is a 5 1/2 x 42 Corona.
With a band that must have been designed in Texas, there is no way you'll not see these in your home humidor. Brightly colored with a mermaid in the middle and surrounded by maritime elements, these bands are not only BIG, they are pretty too.
Holding a La Sirena in hand, there are few, if any soft spots, the broadleaf wrapper has a small amount of tooth, and it feels slightly heavy in the hand. Boasting a triple capped head and a rather well packed foot the La Sirena is one well rolled cigar.
Sniffing the foot of the cigar opens your senses with the smells of berries and chocolate, kinda similar to a chocolate covered cherry or strawberry. Whichever way you cut this cigar, the draw is superb. Wide open with just a tiny bit of resistance, smoking the La Sirena is a real pleasure. The 1st third boasts flavors of chocolate, earth, berries, and cocoa, especially for those who retrohale. The 2nd third flavors develop into leather, bold bitter coffee flavors, and lingering notes of chocolate from the 1st third. The final third brings more of the leather and introduces a a tiny bit of that famous Don Pepin spice.
The flavors are good, the draw is great, there is a decent amount of smoke, the ash holds on for a long while, and the burn is even the whole way through. What more can one ask for from this La Sirena cigar. Give one a try you won't be sorry.
