The Carlos Torano 1959 Exodus 50 Years Robusto cigar is a 93 rated Cigar Aficionado cigar that earned it's way to #12 of CA's Top 25 list of 2010. It is made up of Esteli and Pueblo Nueva Nicaraguan fillers, a Honduran binder, and a Brazilian Arapiraca sun grown wrapper. The wrapper is a thick, dark, oily one that also puts off an unusually strong barnyard aroma. The pre-light draw surprisingly tastes not of barnyard but of an intensely dark chocolate around 80% or darker.

The construction is really good with just the right amount of resistance. Puffing on this cigar is easy and tastes of deep, freshly rained on dirt with some caramel and chocolatey goodness. There is a fair amount of pepper and spice especially in the nose and on a retrohale as we move into the 2^nd half of the cigar. The final third is more of that chocolate dirt flavor with something that reminds me of warm apple cider mixed in.

It is very intense but also very balanced cigar with great flavor, a fair amount of body, and some really nice smoke production.
