Montecristo Reserva Negra

 

The Montecristo Reserva Negra cigar is a Honduran and Nicaraguan filled, Nicaraguan bound, and a San Andres Mexican Morron wrapped square pressed beauty. The wrapper is a dark chocolate, oily, veinless beauty.

 

The big flavor winner here is clearly the chocolate flavor mixed with the caramel but there is a distinct change in flavor in the final third that introduces some cherry and anise flavors bringing us a melding of licorice flavors along with that carmel chocolatey goodness.

 

If you like the Cain Maduro, the Liga Privada No. 9, or the cigars put out by La Sirena you might want to give these Montecristo Reserva Negras a try. They are a bit on the pricy side so perhaps save these for a special occasion.
