Kristoff Ligero Criollo Cigars
Kristoff Ligero Criollo
If you like cigars with a blast of spice and power, Kristoff Ligero Criollo is a perfect addition to your humidor. A rare powerhouse from the Dominican Republic, this smoke has Dominican, Honduran and Nicaraguan filler, and a Honduran binder. The beauty of the Kristoff Ligero Criollo is in the wrapper. A gorgeous Honduran Criollo leaf with barely a vein to be seen. A deep chocolate brown tobacco leaf that borders on a maduro in hue leaves a slight spice on the lips which is very pleasant. A wonderful full-bodied smoke, this cigar is not for the light-hearted.
The simple brown and white Kristoff band is beautiful but what is most striking is the “unfinished” look of this smoke. The Kristoff Ligero Criollo has a Pigtail head and a rough uncut foot. The exterior of this cigar has no bearing on the complexity found within its leaves. The filler is made up of 70% Nicaraguan ligero, giving this stogie a blast of spice which never lets up from foot-to-nub. What is most surprising is that the powerful pepperiness never overcomes all the other wonderful flavors this cigar presents to your palate. We noticed definite cedar and leather notes lingering after the spice subsided with each puff.
Do you love full-bodied cigars or possibly want to step up the flavor profile in what you normally smoke? Kristoff’s Ligero Criollo is a fantastic cigar to add to your arsenal, especially at its fantastic price-point. Due to the strength of this beast, we recommend it as a nice after dinner smoke following a large dinner with a nice glass of port. Another great smoke with a similar flavor is the CAO Criollo.
