Ashton Heritage Puro Sol
Ashton Heritage Puro Sol
Ashton Heritage Puro Sol is the first cigar from Ashton that sports a Cameroon wrapper. Of course, it's not just any Cameroon wrapper, but rather a top-grade sun grown Cameroon born in the rainforests of central Africa by the Meerapfel family, some of the best Cameroon growers in the world. The filler and binder consist of rich sun grown Dominican tobacco, blended by the legend himself, Carlito Fuente. The Ashton Heritage Puro Sol is also a proud high-ranking member of Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 Cigars of 2012!
The toothy light brown wrapper leaf sits beneath an upscale red, gold, and white band reading “Puro Sol,” Spanish for “pure sun.” As with all Ashton cigars the construction is top-notch and the draw is quite easy. The smoothness is indescribable from the very first puff and the thick, blue smoke is teeming with nutty and creamy nuances. The finish is subtly sweet and there is just a touch of spice on the back of the throat. Very well-balanced and easy to smoke.
These medium-bodied treats are terrific for any connoisseur, especially those looking to make the jump from mild sticks to something with a bit more “oomph.” They pair nicely with sweet white wine or champagne and make a great celebration cigar. Similar Cameroon beauties to this include Oliva Serie G and Arturo Fuente. Ashton has always made the cigars of luxury. Puro Sol is just another example of the rich heritage behind this wonderful cigar brand.
