La Flor Dominicana Casa de Tobaco Cigars
La Flor Dominicana Casa de Tobaco
Many people would have thought it would have been enough for Litto Gomez of La Flor Dominicana to just bring out a Maduro version of the popular La Flor Dominicana Air Bender, but that wasn't enough for Litto. Instead, he decided to pack twenty-four Air Bender Maduros in a humidor designed to be a replica of La Flor's iconic Dominican tobacco curing barns. Casa de Tabaco features two trays: one for the cigars and one for a lighter and cutter, and is an easy frontrunner for “Packaging of the Year.” Equally unique is the blend make-up, particularly the wrapper. For the first time ever, Litto decided to use a dark and hearty Brazilian Habano wrapper over the normal Dominican and Nicaraguan Air Bender fillers.
While this is not a Digger, the Casa de Tobaco is not a small stick by any imagination measuring in it a hefty 6 1/2 x 54. The dark Brazilian Habano has a great amount of reds, a good sign this is going to be strong and flavorful, which is classic Litto. It lives up to the hype as this easily one of the most flavor LFDs of all time with notes of earth, cedar, espresso, chocolates, grass and even a bit of floral notes, all with a pepper that you'd expect from Litto Gomez and the Tabacalera La Flor factory. While the strength isn't immediately there, pretty quickly in you know where the Casa de Tobaco stands: full strength, full flavor and full body. For those that wanted a bit more in every category from the popular La Flor Dominicana Air Bender, here's your answer in all its glory.
