Liga Undercrown Cigars
Liga Undercrown
Drew Estate's Liga Privada is one of the hottest brands on the market today. Unfortunately, the intense demand has made it difficult to keep an ample supply given the limited amount of tobacco that can be used for Liga Privada. Because of this, the rollers at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate were told that they could no longer smoke Liga Privadas while they worked, as the supply was too small. The rollers took this into their own hands and began to develop their own cigar to smoke and Undercrown was born. The rollers took various types of tobacco that were used for Liga Privada, but began to inverse them while at the same time using different primings and proportions. They then took a Mexican San Andrés Negro wrapper to finish off the combination of Liga Privada tobacco's that made up the filer and the end result is one of the most anticipated cigars of the year.
Undercrown comes in five sizes: Robusto, Gran Toro, Belicoso, Corona Double and Gordito with prices noticeably lower than Liga Privada. However, the internal fillers and binders provide much of the same Liga Privada flavor with a bit more smoothness. Expect notes of chocolate, earth, pepper and leather with a bit of creaminess and other lighter notes. Undercrown is noticeably lighter in strength, coming in a bit more medium than the normally full Liga Privada. However, it's still very much full-flavored and full-bodied. For those that have enjoyed Liga Privada, Undercrown is a must try, even without the difference in price.
