The Esteban Carreras 187 line of cigars is the bargain “open box” item in their ever growing line-up. It is a medium to full-bodied Nicaraguan puro with a maduro wrapper. I'm not sure why Carreras is intrigued with using police codes for the names of their cigars. This, the Esteban Carreras 187 is named for the police code for murder. Another or his cigars, the Esteban Carreras 5150 is named for the police code for an emotionally disturbed person, generally headed to the psych ward.

While not the most complex cigar full of subtleties, the Esteban Carreras was a solid smoke. It did require a touch-up or two to the burn line but nothing that couldn't be handled or that detracted from the smoking experience. For a bargain stick, this truly is a good bargain. This is a great cigar for those times where you know you'd miss the subtleties of a more expensive and complex cigar.
