Camacho SLR Cigars
An impressive cigar that demands notice from smokers and non-smokers alike, the Camacho SLR Maduro cigar is certain to satisfy. The Eiroa family has developed a stable of world class cigars. Many of the tobaccos grown using modern and responsible agricultural practices on their own Jamastran farm, and the SLR (meaning Special Limited Reserve) is no exception. Built using authentic Corojo a foundation, the filler is secured by a thick Honduran binder before being draped in a well aged Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper.
In the hand, the hefty and heavy SLR Maduro sits like a slab of dark chocolate graced with a contrasting bright red double band. The wrapper is flawless with a noticeable texture and it exudes the earthy aroma common to perfectly fermented Maduro cigars. The cap clips cleanly and the foot alights with minimal effort, while the resulting clouds of crowd-pleasing smoke delivering strong coffee-like flavors to the palate. Adding in some cedar notes, the cigar mellows slightly at the midpoint but picks up steam again towards the end while providing a peppery blast. The finish is crescendo of deep cocoa and there is minimal bitterness as the cigar approaches the nub.
A cigar built to pair with similarly robust flavors, it is best to smoke the Camacho SLR Maduro following a hearty meal while sipping a single barrel whiskey. This is a Maduro to take seriously, and fans of the Cain Maduro and CAO La Traviata Maduro should find this an easy task.
