E.P. Carrillo Core Line Maduro Cigars Cigars
E.P. Carrillo Core Line Maduro
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. made La Gloria Cubana famous for his dark Maduro cigars, so shortly after the announcement of E.P. Carrillo, everyone waited for the Maduros. In early 2011, the E.P. Carrillo Core Line Maduro made its first appearance. Perez-Carrillo Jr. took the sizes of his popular E.P. Carrillo Core Line and added a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Currently, there are eight vitolas of the E.P. Carrillo Core Line Maduro made at the family's Dominican factory: Enactos (4 7/8), No.4 (5 1/8 x 42), Regalias Real (5 1/8 x 42), Club 52 (5 7/8 x 52), Predilectos (6 1/8 x 52), Golosos (6 1/4 x 60), Churchill Especial (7 1/8 x 49) and Monumentos (7 3/8 x 56). All are offered in boxes twenty with the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers with an Ecuadorian binder.
If you enjoyed the old La Gloria Cubana Maduros Ernesto was known for from Miami's El Credito factory, it's a bit of nostalgia and a bit of something nice. It's a complex mixture of dark chocolate, sweet cedar, medium peppers, coffee and earthiness. It's medium-full in strength and full in both body and flavor. While it reminds experience smokers of the good ole' days at La Gloria, Ernesto Perez-Carillo Jr.'s newest Maduro is anything but just another old cigar.
