Nub Maduro Cigars Cigars
You can’t really blame Oliva Cigars for being skeptical when Sam Leccia proposed what would become Nub Maduro. At the time, smokes of such stature were uncommon and they really couldn’t know if he could pull off his goal of creating a line of smokes able to fire up at the cigar’s ‘sweet spot’. However, when you’re a legend people tend to give you the benefit of the doubt. And good thing they did. Smooth and creamy from the get-go with aged Nicaraguan leaf throughout and a toothy Brazilian wrapper seemingly gifted from the gods, each chunky stick places excellent flavor as priority Numero Uno!
Of course, what good are premium aged and fermented tobaccos if you can’t smoke them? Fortunately, only talented rollers were given responsibility for crafting each Nub and so they are heavy in hand, uniformly firm to the touch, and possess a draw tailor-made to deliver tons of smoke. Beginning with an eagerly anticipated chocolaty kick, there is a touch of raisin-like sweetness on the exhale which adds a nice depth. If you take some time to swirl the creamy flavors around your palate, toasted wood and exotic spices will peek out from beneath what is otherwise a tobacco focused medium-full profile.
Short and big-boned with a great personality, a Nub Maduro cigar is as much fun to hold as it is to smoke, enticing you to go for a famous Nub-stand when you’ve finally finished after an hour and a half or more of enjoyable smoking time. Even if you manage to lose the ash, however, you’ll still end up completely satisfied and looking forward to your next Nub experience. Take the opportunity to try their Connecticut, Habano, and Cameroon versions as well.
