Rocky Patel The Edge Sumatra
Not long after Rocky Patel took the cigar world by storm with the original, beloved Edge Corojo, a new star was born that would capture the hearts of full-bodied cigar fanatics across the globe: The Edge Sumatra. Rolled in Nestor Plasencia’s El Paraiso factory in Danli, Honduras, The Edge Sumatra takes all the sought-after qualities of the original Corojo blend and considerably ramps up the already imposing strength. For this blend, Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Peruvian fillers are combined with a spicy Nicaraguan binder leaf. The wrapper is a dark and oily Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf that really beefs up the flavor profile. Though not as readily available as the other Edge variants, Edge Sumatra is one of the favorites, earning a 91 rating in Cigar Aficionado and a spot on the magazine’s Top 25 Cigars of 2007.
