Padron cigars come from a family owned company based in Miami that has been in business since 1964. The Padron family, in fact, has a history with Cuban cigar making with roots that go back more than a century.
Jose Padron came to the United States as a Cuban refugee in 1962. He lived in Miami and received $60 a month in aid from the US government. He says that every time he cashed that check he felt like a burden to the country that took him in. He used that motivation to find a job but was having difficulty. One day a friend who worked in the Cuban Refugee Office, Raul Fernandez, asked if Jose had any carpentry skills and Jose said that he did. Raul gave Jose a small hammer and with that hammer he took small jobs doing carpentry work at night and gardening by day. Jose says now that the gift of the hammer made him feel as though he had “the necessary tool to become self-sufficient and not depend on a government hand-out.”
Through a lof of hard-work and sacrifice Jose was able to use that hammer to save $600. With that money, he started Padron Cigars, and started to make his dream of starting a factory that would make great cigars like he used to smoke in Cuba. Today Padron is one of the names that sets the standard of a great cigar around the world, but especially here in Jose Padron's new home, the United States.

These cigars are offered in 10 vitolas comprised of tobacco that has been aged 4 years to add to it's smooth and complex flavor. With individually numbered bands everyone can feel like they are smoking something special. The Padron 1964 Torpedo Maduro is the one that flies off our shelves.
Padron 1926 Series Natural - This series of Padron cigars debuted in 2002 to celebrate the 75th birthday of family patriarch Jose O. Padron. It features a total of seven different sizes that are offered in sun-grown wrappers. The tobacco used in these cigars is aged for five years to produce a flavor that is balanced, complex and full-bodied, showing flavors of chocolate, coffee, nuts, and even a hint of black cherry. The 1926 Series is a box pressed cigar that also features individually numbered dual bands to help prevent counterfeiting. We highly recommend the Padron 1926 Serie Natural No. 9 . It earned Top Cigar of 2007 and scored an outstanding 97 rating from Cigar Aficionado. This cigar is also available with a maduro wrapper as The 1926 Series Maduro.
Padron 1926 Series Maduro - This series of Padron cigars was debuted in 2002 to celebrate the 75th birthday of family patriarch Jose O. Padron. It features a total of seven different sizes that are offered with maduro wrappers. The tobacco used in these cigars is aged for five years to produce a flavor that is balanced, complex, and full bodied with notes of orange zest, leather, coffee, nuts, cocoa, and toasted wood. The Padron 1926 Series 80 Year Maduro earned a 96 rating and was named the #2 cigar of 2008 by Cigar Aficionado. We also recommend the Padron 1926 Anniversary Series No. 9. This cigar is also available in a sun-grown wrapper as the Padron 1926 Series Natural.
Padron Series Natural - This line of Padron cigars features a variety of different sizes, all produced to the highest quality standards. The pure sun-grown tobacco used in this line is aged for two-and-a-half years at the least to produce flavors that cigar lovers adore. There are fifteen different vitolas used among the lines ranging from the long thin panetela to the large “A” sized Magnum. The Padron Executive Natural is the size we smoke the most of here at the office and it was awarded a rating of 92 by Cigar Aficionado.
Padron Series Maduro - This line of Padron cigars feature a variety of different sizes, all still produced to the high quality standards that we've come to expect from the Padron family. The tobacco used in this line are fermented maduro wrappers that have been aged at least two-and-a-half years to provide cigar lovers with that extra kick of flavor they love so much. Vitolas range from the 95 rated Padron Magnum Maduro to the 91 rated Padron #6000 Maduro and 13 other sizes to fit the preferences of even the most discriminating smokers.
